Five Date Ideas In Kent

19/07/2021

We’ve all been locked up for far too long which might have made Kent dating [AD] feel slightly impossible at times. Thank God for online dating eh? But as restrictions lift and things go back to normal, it’s time for us to all get back out there again. Here are five date ideas in Kent I’ve been to and done myself which I definitely recommend giving a go.

kent date ideas whitstable

A day in Whitstable

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you’ll know how much I love Whitstable. It’s become one of mine and Toby’s favourite places to go for a date day in Kent and now we love taking Pepper there too. There’s the beach if you fancy a stroll, lots of cute restaurants and cafes for a bite to eat (I recommend the Lobster Shack the most), some cute independent shops and an old fashioned sweet shop which is always going to be a great talking point for a first date!

Vineyards

We are blessed in Kent to have plenty of wineries to visit in the glorious sunshine. From Hush Heath in rural Staplehurst to Chapel Down in Tenterden, there are loads of scenic vineyards for you to visit for a guided tour, tastings or just a drink on the terrace. If you enjoy indulging in award-winning wines and are in the mood for a more relaxed date, I think this would be perfect! And if wine isn’t really your thing, I’ll also mention The Curious Brewery in Ashford where you can have a similar experience but with beer!

kent date ideas dreamland

Dreamland in Margate

I couldn’t write this post and forget about Dreamland could I? If you’re looking for a bit of fun then you need to get yourself down to this classic amusement park in Margate for rides, a roller disco, mirror maze and loads of other attractions. It’s full of colour and excitement and you could have a right laugh there with plenty of opportunities to giggle and chat. Once you’re worn out, you can head into the town to have a mooch around the shops and restaurants or a walk along the sandy beach.

A day in Canterbury

It’s hard to believe sometimes that there is a city as beautiful as Canterbury nestled in the heart of Kent. There are shops, cafes and restaurants galore and a tonne of other things to do including punting or rowing down the River Stour, watching a show at The Marlowe Theatre, visiting museums/galleries and wandering through Westgate Gardens.

kent date ideas pantiles

Lunch on The Pantiles

The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells is a hot spot for a chilled out, mooch-around-go-and-get-a-coffee kinda date. They have plenty of cute cafes and top notch restaurants including Framptons and Sankey’s but they also run jazz nights on Thursday evenings in the summer if you want a bit more of an atmosphere. Oh, and it’s super Instagrammable which always goes down well!
