If you have read this outfit post then you will know that Toby treated me to a bite to eat at Cau for my birthday meal a couple of weeks ago. We had the most amazing food and I just had to write a blog post on it.

I thought I’d be fancy on our arrival and order a cocktail but to be honest I’m really not a cocktail person so I wish I had just ordered a beer! It was drinkable though, but I can’t remember the name unfortunately! We then shared a plate of hummus and crisp breads with aubergine caviar and chilli which wasn’t the biggest portion but the homemade hummus was to die for.

So now for mains.. At first, the idea of a large sirloin steak suited me down to the ground and I thought it would be ample for me, but Toby had ideas of his own. He was adamant that we would get the 1200g steakboard consisting of 400g of lomito rump, 400g of spiralled ribeye and 400g asada de chorizo which is essentially a fat old cut of smoked steak. Not to mention the addition of chunky chips, skinny chips, coleslaw and a salad! But it being my birthday dinner and all, we decided to go for it! I have to say it smelt and tasted amazing, the spiralled ribeye was definitely my favourite and the coleslaw was deeeeelish! Surprisingly we also managed to get through pretty much all of it, only leaving 2 chunks of steak and a couple of chips so kudos go to me and Tubs!

After leaving it a good half hour we somehow managed to find some room for dessert so we tucked into a plate of churros with dulce de leche sauce which was too good! Their pudding menu is one of the best I’ve seen around and next time we go, I’ll definitely be eyeing up the three-milk cake which the waitress recommended!

So there we go, a quick run down on our meal out in Cau! I really recommend the place and for everything we ate and drank, it came to a pretty reasonable amount at the end! 10/10 from me!
